This striking vermilion armor honors the legacy of the Ii Clan of Tōtōmi province, renowned vassals of the Imagawa and later loyal allies of the Tokugawa. The yoroi was immortalized by Ii Naomasa (1561–1602), who rose to power after his father’s assassination and became one of Tokugawa Ieyasu’s most trusted generals. Known as one of the legendary “Four Guardian Kings,” Naomasa was both feared and admired for his ruthless tactics and unwavering discipline.

Naomasa’s troops, clad in brilliant red armor, were known as the “Red Devils” of the battlefield. His own intimidating appearance earned him the fearsome title of Akaoni – the Red Ogre. The blazing color scheme was inspired by the Takeda, designed to strike terror into the hearts of enemies before swords were even drawn. The towering golden horns on the kabuto symbolize power and dominance, completing a warrior’s presence that was impossible to ignore.

Each set of this armor is hand-forged by master craftsmen using traditional methods, designed to be fully functional yet also serve as a centerpiece of historical artistry. It comes with a lacquered black box and a display stand, pre-fitted for wearers between 160 cm and 185 cm, with easy adjustments possible.
